Some details, capabilities, and decisions may change as development continues. Fabric AI Gateway records every request that passes through it, so you can monitor traffic without instrumenting your own services. Use **Analytics** to see aggregated metrics such as cost, latency, and error rate across a time window. Use **Traces** to inspect individual requests down to the plugin and upstream level. > **Note** > > The gateway supports recent OpenTelemetry GenAI conventions for more granular LLM metrics and tracing, helping you inspect model and request activity in greater detail. ## Choose between analytics and traces | Use | When you want to | Guide | | ------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------- | | **Analytics** | See trends in traffic, errors, latency, token usage, and cost. | [Review analytics](/fabric/observability/analytics) | | **Traces** | Debug a specific request, or check which model or provider served it. | [Inspect traces](/fabric/observability/traces) | Both pages are under **Admin** in the sidebar and show traffic for your whole organization. If you run your own data plane, **Gateway health** also appears under **Admin**. ## Next steps * To act on what you find, add rate limits, routing, or transforms. For the steps, see [Control traffic with plugins](/fabric/plugins). * To control which model handles each request, see [Route requests across models and providers](/fabric/plugins/routing). > Review aggregated analytics and inspect individual requests that pass through Fabric AI Gateway. ## Docs - [Review analytics](https://docs.fabricgateway.ai/fabric/observability/analytics.md): Review traffic, errors, latency, token usage, and cost for LLM, MCP, and HTTP traffic over a time window. - [Inspect traces](https://docs.fabricgateway.ai/fabric/observability/traces.md): Find and inspect distributed traces for LLM, MCP, and HTTP traffic.
